Relic is a curated vintage shop and boutique in Olmstead Falls, Ohio. The client was seeking professional photography to be used for the initial launch of their social media profiles and website.
I acted as an art director, photographer, and photo editor to produce high quality imagery that closely resembled the client's brand image.
Product Photography on Relic Website
On the day of the shoot that was coordinated with the owner or Relic, I went on-site to see what inventory was there to be photographed. I took photos for 1.5 hours, finding and creating dynamic, interesting compositions with the merchandise.
After capturing the images, I sorted through the photos and selected the best ones to be edited. The final edited photos were sent back to the client to be used on various digital channels.

I used the Nikon D3400 DSLR camera to take the photos. The photos were shot in natural light using the camera's manual settings.
Once all the photos were taken, I sorted through the files to choose the best images. 30 images were imported into Adobe Lightroom Classic to adjust lighting and alter color balance to match the tone of the brand.
After the editing was completed, the images were exported from Lightroom Classic and delivered to the client through Dropbox.

Upon the completion of this project, the client had 30 product images taken on-site of their merchandise at the opening of the boutique. By using original photos, Relic is able to show potential customers their unique offerings and the type of items they sell without relying on generic stock imagery. Each image was edited to showcase the products pictured and reflect the style of the brand.
These photos were used for the client's website, Etsy product listings, social media profiles, Instagram posts, Facebook posts, and more.
This experience showed me how important it is that the imagery used for a brand's digital presence reflects the brand's messaging, visual identity style, and unique value proposition to clearly communicate with potential customers.
